Women-led businesses provide better results than men because of their inherent leadership qualities. However, only 14% of women are entrepreneurs, and just 20% of businesses are owned by women.
Top reasons for their low participation are social and personal barriers, inaccessibility to resources, lack of skills, and financial illiteracy.
If given a level playing field and some support, women can achieve much more and contribute significantly to our economy.
We aim is to build confidence among women that they can start or scale their business with right skills, planning and by overcoming personal and social barriers. Women who are below poverty line, widows, SC/ST and OBC, between 21-50 years of age are given priority. Detailed personal or group discussions and assessments are done with Potential women entrepreneurs (PWE) to understand their strengths, hinderances and potential for further intervention to establish their enterprise, individually or in group. A Prayas Sewa Kendra is established in Bhuj-Kutch, where PWEs meets periodically to avail consultation services on entrepreneurship, govt. schemes and credit linkage, health services and other technical support assistance.
Planned activities to inspire and mobilize PWEs to take the plunge.
Literacy skills, work experience & personal inhibitions are assessed.

Selected PWEs are supported with Seed Fund, SHG Loan, or linkage with other financial institutions.
